Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the benefit of having a wedding planner?
Having a wedding planner to help you plan your wedding offers so many benefits here are just a few:
- We can help you find a place to start. Many of our clients do not know where to begin with finding a venue, organizing the ceremony and working out how it is all going to look and then pulling that look together.
- A good wedding planner will help you decide on the best venue and style of wedding to suit you and then use their huge number of contacts to introduce you to suppliers that are not only perfect for you but established, reliable companies.
- We manage your budget, keeping you on track in finding the best solutions to ensure the WOW factor for less.
- We keep the look and feel of your wedding cohesive and add lots of fabulous ideas to the mix.
- We help you through the etiquette minefield and make suggestions for tricky situations.
- We take all the stress and running around out of the process, giving you one contact to talk to whilst we manage all the suppliers and of course, we attend on the day so all you have to do is enjoy your day.
2. My venue says it has a wedding co-ordinator. What is the difference?
Many venues offer their own wedding co-ordinator as part of the package. This is your contact at the venue, who will guide you through all things to do with your venue. This person is definitely a great help but is not a substitution for a wedding planner. The venue co-ordinator is not independent so their point of view is based on their venue and their linked suppliers. They can make recommendations for suppliers. However they do not manage the process for you, help with styling and design, proof and manage invitations or other print materials, nor do they manage your budget or seek alternative suppliers if you do not like their list. Some venue co-ordinators will attend on the day or you may have a different co-ordinator who will just be brief on the day of the event. It can sometimes go horribly wrong especially when you have special requests. An independent wedding planner offers a much larger scope of services that is completely based on the best options for their client.
3. Does having a wedding planner cost me more?
The simple answer is NO! We have the experience and the contacts to be able to create the best possible wedding for your budget. The benefits and advice a wedding planner offers is invaluable, from knowing what items are worth, to where to spend your budget for the most impact. By passing all the commissions and discounts available to us back to you, we find we often save our clients most of our fee!
4. What incentive do you have to keep to my budget?
Our job is to create the best possible wedding we can for your budget, not to go over it and our reputation depends on it.
We strongly believe that there is nothing worse than over-spending and going into your marriage with the stress of debt or over depleted savings. Your wedding budget is very important to us and we will always ensure you know the consequences of every decision and map out the budget allocations before we confirm anything. There is no point splashing out on a 10-piece band if you would have preferred a big cake! We make sure we know your priorities from the beginning.
5. Do I lose control of my wedding?
Definitely not! Every decision about which suppliers you want and how it looks is up to the two of you. You meet all of the suppliers with us. We are there to give you lots of ideas, suggestions and recommendations but it is really important to us that your wedding reflects the two of you and is what you always wanted for your wedding.
6. I already have a venue is that OK?
Yes, no problem. We are happy to work with your venue or building a marquee at home.
7. What type of ceremonies do you arrange?
We can help you arrange many types of ceremony from civil marriage and civil partnerships to religious celebrations. We have arranged many types of ceremony but have found that there is always something new to learn with a new custom or family tradition – and that is great! We love to learn and help you create something really personal and special for your ceremony.
8. I have already organized my whole wedding – what can you add to make my day successful?
Using a wedding planner to plan your wedding day has always been viewed as a luxury that only the rich and famous enjoyed. This is not so much the case anymore and the number of people using wedding planners continues to rise every day.
- Avoiding disasters - We will help you to avoid disasters at the function as we will oversee all the operations of the day to the last detail.
- Emergencies - In the event of an emergency at the event we will be better prepared to deal with the crises rather than a family member figuring out what to do and interrupting you before decisions can be made.
- Alleviating stress – some couples have complained of not enjoying their wedding day because of the stress of delegating to others who may ultimately be doing a favour and are simply not up to the task. A wedding planner deals with all the minutiae.
- Ideas: An experienced wedding planner offers you the one thing no bride (except a serial bride) has -experienced. We will make sure your dream becomes a reality.
- Scheduling Expertise: We will ensure the timing for the wedding is perfect. We know how much time the decorators, florist, and photographer needs.
- Post event- We will return all the items, eg wedding cake stand, pay all the suppliers, ensure all your guests leave safely to their respective destinations.
